- Description
- This is an Amendment to Solicitation number SA13017RP0011. This Amendment is to answer questions received on this solicitation. 1. Who is the current contractor providing these services and how long have they been performing on the current contract? ANSWER: This is a new contract. No previous provider. 2. Would the government accept substitution of experience translating relevant subject matter in lieu of a law degree? Given that the government wants a quote by May 18, the requirement that translator must have a law degree from an English speaking country and/or law degree from an Arabic speaking country preferred seems to restrict competition and does not give other contractors sufficient time or a fair chance to find the right candidate. ANSWER: The RFP states in 6.1.c that the vendor "Must have a law degree from an English speaking country and/or law degree from an Arabic speaking country preferred but not required." and in 6.2.b. that the vendor "Law degree from Arabic speaking country and/or law degree from English speaking country preferred but not required." 3. What types of files will we receive? i.e. will we receive editable MS Word documents, PDF files, hard copies, InDesign files, etc.? ANSWER: All of the above are possible formats. 4. What type of formatting will be required for the target documents? i.e. will we have to provide graphic design services, formatting, layout, etc.? ANSWER: The documents will most often need to translated in the same existing format using the existing template, i.e. power points provided in English will be translated to Arabic power points, we do not anticipate the need for high end graphic design services. 5. Are there any graphics, pictures, charts, etc. included in the documents to be translated? ANSWER: Charts are very possible, graphics are less likely. 6. May we see a sample of the work to be translated? ANSWER: You may find an example at the following link: http://www.iraqdevelopmentprogram.org/images/tools/iraqoillaw.pdf Response The Defense Priorities and Allocations System, DPAS, does not apply to this acquisition. Offerors shall submit 1-electronic proposals on CD-ROM, with three 3-original paper copies of its offer to U.S. Department of Commerce, CAS, OS Business Solutions Team, Sol: SA13017RP0011, 14th & Constitution Ave. N.W., Room 6520, Washington, DC 20230, Attn: Wendy M.
