- Description
- The U.S. Department of State, Regional Procurement Support Office and the U.S. Embassy, Bogota are seeking qualified offerors for the construction of mobile bases in Guateque and Piamonte, Colombia. Both locations are in restricted zones where access is difficult. Each mobile base will consist of the following: One prefabricated barracks of approximately 245.4 square meters with the capacity to house 56 persons, together with the respective bathroom block, and including electrical, communication, hydraulic and sewage installations; approximately 104.19 square meters of construction to include a prefabricated kitchen, a dinning room with the capacity for 20 persons, two offices for administrative personnel, a bathroom, the respective equipment for these areas, and including electrical, communication, hydraulic and sewage installations; approximately 52.35 square meters of lodging for Commanders, with two rooms, two bathrooms, and including the electrical, communication, hydraulic and sewage installations; a Machines Room of approximately 12.6 square meters, and an Access Control Area of approximately 4.5 square meters. Exterior works will include grading, filling material, turfing, utilities systems connections, sidewalks, and approximately 300 square meters of new roads and sidewalk area. Construction requirements will include air conditioning, an electrical system, and a water system. The project also entails site preparation and civil works to accommodate site utilities and sewage. The solicitation is planned for release to qualified offerors on or about May 4, 2007, with award of a contract anticipated in the June to July 2007 time frame. It is anticipated that construction will start as soon as possible after contract award, with a performance period of approximately one hundred thirty calendar days from contract execution to substantial completion. The resulting contract type shall be firm-fixed price, and the estimated value of construction is between U.S. $400,000 and $650,000.
