Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Hawaiian Volcano Observatory has a requirement for the deconstruction and proper disposal of existing Halon system (to include agent release control panel, initiation and notification devices and circuitry, piping, cylinders, agent and other associated appurtenances), and the building main fire alarm equipment (to include the fire alarm control panel, initiating and notification devices, and other associated appurtenances); and design build installation of an HFC-227 (FM-200) chemical clean agent fire extinguishing system, with control panel and initiating and notification appliance for the computer room, and a fire detection and notification system that will provide complete coverage of the entire facility located at Hawaiin Volcanoes National Park, occupied by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the National Park Service (NPS). Request for Proposals (RFP) 07HQSS0019 will be posted on electronic commerce on or about July 6, 2007. Details may be viewed on the Department of Interior Business Opportunities website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The posted RFP will contain uniform contract format (Section B-M). All responsible sources who have a valid Dun and Bradstreet Number may submit a proposal. Offerors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Register by going to www.ccr.gov. A site visit will be scheduled on or about July 17, 2007. Details will be in Section L of the RFP. Inquiries concerning the site visit and the RFP must be submitted in writing by mail, email (lmccarthy@usgs.gov) or fax (703) 648-7901. All inquiries must contain the prospecive offerors complete company name, mailing address, phone number and email address. Phone requests will not be accepted. The anticipated period of performance is 90 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated cost for this acquisition is between $50,000 and $125,000.00. The NAICS Code is 238220. This acquisition is UNRESTRICTED.
