Description
This amendment provides questions and answers and revised the points of contacts for the subject RFP. The following questions and answers are provided: 1. Regarding the vacuum system: this system is not described as a standard feature by the "preferred vendor" and we need more information; please describe exactly what is required. Specifically, a. What vacuum level is required in the streak camera when it is being re-connected to the experiment. Answer: The experiments will not be conducted in vacuum. The vacuum required is for the x-ray system when not connected to an external vacuum system. b. What is the desired flange configuration? Answer: Since it is not expected for this system to be attached to a vacuum system the flange configuration is not a concern. Please supply a complete description of othe vacuum requirements. Answer: Not required as the vacuum system is for the operation of the streak system and not dependent on the experiments. 2. Regarding the streak plug-in requirements: Optronis streak cameras are designed for optimal performance at all streak speeds. For example, the jitter of an Optronis streak camera is specified at <5 picoseconds as opposed to 20 picoseconds for others. Is it acceptable to supply 2 plugin sweep units in order to best optimize all ranges, rather than compromising by forcing no plug ins? Answer: We prefer not to have to swap out sweep units. Responses are still due no later than 3:30 PM EST on 28 June 2007. Responses may be provided electronically or via US mail. Electronically sent to renee.m.brown@navy.mil or georgia.warder@navy.mil. US Mail: 4072 North Jackson Street Suite 132 Bldg. 1558, NSWC Indian Head, MD 20640-5035 ATTN: C13 or C13A.
