Description
In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements, the US Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service (DOI/MMS) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Nova Southeast University. This requirement is being issued as a commercial acquisition under FAR 13.5 and FAR Part 12. DOI/MMS will be participating in the 11th International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS). MMS will provide funding to the ICRS for support of technical symposiums during this meeting. Funding is being provided to Nova Southeastern University as they are in the unique position to manage sponsorship contributions for the planning and conduct of the 11th ICRS. As co-chairs of the US Coral Reef Task Force, the Department of the Interior (DOI) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have pledged to be major co-sponsors for ICRS. The level of sponsorship provided by the DOI provides several benefits including a complimentary exhibit booth, three complementary symposium registration, and three printed copies of the symposium proceedings. The symposium will take place in Fort Lauderdale, FL in July 2008. No award will be made on the basis of quotations or offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear, compelling and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. However, all information received within 15 working days after the date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
