- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 3), James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx New York, Network Acquisitions and Logistics program is currently seeking firms with the ability to convert a standard Ford E250 van into a complete "REHAB VAN". This vehicle will be designed to evaluate for necessary high tech and low tech adapted driver systems to train individuals to operate a vehicle though affected by various functional disabilities such as spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis etc. The vehicle must be capable of accommodating disabled persons whom cannot perform transfers. Therefore, patients must be taught to drive and or evaluate from the wheelchair position. This vehicle (Training / Evaluation Van) when completed, must include and incorporate the following requirements/needs: This vehicle requires duel controls, steering wheel mounted controls, wheel chair capability (driver) and lift. The firm will be responsible for providing all management, supervision, labor, materials, supplies and equipment, and shall plan, schedule, coordinate and assure effective performance of maintaining and operating the modification of this vehicle. This vehicle must meet the specifications for the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, 130 West Kingsbridge Road Bronx, New York 10468. Applicants must have at least FIVE YEAR OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE. Preferred if the applicant had provided same or similar services to other VA Medical Center throughout the United States. The applicant must also provide "REFERENCES" for providing same or similar products. Firms desiring consideration shall email directly to the Contracting Officer referencing the following in the subject field, "Rehab Van", then contain the following information within the body of the e-mail name of firm, complete address, phone & fax number of contact. When a small business receives an award as prime contractor as a result of a small business set-aside solicitation, the small business prime will be required to comply with FAR 52.219-14, Limitations on subcontracting, which states that at least 50 percent of the cost of contract performance incurred for personnel shall be expended for employees of the concern. The contract requires that the selected firm have an on-line access to E-mail via the Internet for routine exchange of correspondence.
