Description

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Region has a requirement for construction services in Provo, Utah. This requirement is being procured in accordance with Subpart 15 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation under full and open competition. The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a Request for Proposal for this requirement. The principal components of the work consist of the following: Complete seismic strengthening of the exterior and interior building of the Provo Area Office building; remove trees and re-grade surface necessary to install footings for seismic modification towers and dampers on the exterior of the west and east ends of the Provo Area Office, as shown on the drawings; construct five (5) seismic strengthening towers, dampers, and footings on the exterior of the Provo Area Office. Relocate underground utilities as needed to construct the footings at each location; remove and replace exterior building panels for installation of damper structures to the building, as shown on the drawings; remove and replace interior building materials as required to attach damper structure to building, as shown on the drawings; furnish and install welded attached diagonal cross bracing of solid rods as shown on the drawings; furnish and install various bracing details with welded and anchored attachments throughout the building as shown on the drawings; removal and disposal of coatings containing lead will be required to perform welded attachments to the building; furnish and install welded attached seismic lockup devices on the interior of the Provo Area Office; construct tubular steel shear walls using bolted and welded attachments at four (4) locations of the building perimeter, as shown on the drawings; furnish and install bolted attachment reinforcement angles at connection of W-beam and joist truss, as shown on the drawings; furnish and install additional clips between pipe truss and CMU wall using welding and bolted attachment; furnish and install safety window films and attachments to increase earthquake safety of all windows in the building; furnish and install sod and landscaping as shown on the drawings; cleaning of the building shall be performed to areas associated with the seismic strengthening work; remove existing dirt and dust accumulations; final cleaning of the building will be done in association with the seismic construction work. The estimated price range for this requirement is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. It is anticipated the contract will be a fixed, unit-price construction contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238120 with a Size Standard of $13.0 million. The work is located at the Bureau of Reclamation's Provo Area Office, 302 East 1860 South, Provo, Utah. A Bid Bond along with Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. There will be a site tour scheduled (date, time, and location will be provided in the solicitation). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
