Description
DARPA will host a Proposers' Day Workshop in support of the BAA07-52, Scalable Network Monitoring (SNM) program on Thursday, August 16th, 2007 at System Planning Corporation, Suite 3001, 3601 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the SNM program; promote additional discussion on this topic; and provide a forum for potential proposers to investigate their capabilities for teaming opportunities. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The objective of the SNM program is to develop new approaches to monitoring computer networks independent of the network size. The envisioned size of the Global Information Grid (GIG) and use of IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) present new challenges to information assurance. At the same time threats are shrinking in size and signature, significantly reducing their equivalent "signal-to-noise" ratio. As a result many conventional approaches to defending our networks will not be sustainable. This project will explore new network-based approaches to monitoring computer networks that provide maximum coverage with performance independent of the network size and computational costs that remain a constant (or decreasing) fraction of the computational power of the total network being defended. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Participants must register NLT 5:00 pm EDT Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 at the following website: http://www.tfims.darpa.mil/bti. Directions to the facility and other materials are also available on the website. There is no registration fee for attending this conference. Due to space limitations of the conference facility, attendance will be limited to the first 80 registrants, and no more than 2 representatives per organization. The Proposers' Day will be unclassified. All attendees will be required to present government issued photo identification upon entry to the event. Additionally, all attendees must be US Citizens and are required to submit a US Citizenship Verification form in order to attend this conference. The completed Citizenship Form must be faxed to: Julie Ard, System Planning Corporation, fax 703-351-8776, phone 703-351-8481, email Julia.ard.ctr@darpa.mil no later than 5:00 pm EDT Wednesday, August 8th, 2007. The document is available for download at the registration website. Attendance is not required to propose to any associated BAA.
