- The Department of Veterans Affairs National Acquisition Center, Hines, IL will be holding an informal exchange of information for manufacturers of Audible Prescription Reading Devices September 11 - 13, 2007 at the: Department of Veterans Affairs Prosthetic and Clinical Logistics Office (Room 834) 1722 I Street, NW Washington, DC 20420 (202) 254-0440 Each vendor will be given 45 minutes to present their product. There will be a question and answer period following the presentation. Please contact Adrienne Albachiara (adrienne.albachiara@va.gov) or Kimberly Cowan-tucker (Kimberly.cowan-tucker2@va.gov (708) 786-5136) to schedule your time slot no later than August 21, 2007. Listed is an example of the type of questions that VA would like answered during the presentation. 1. Does your device have the capacity to adjust voice speed, voice tone and volume? 2. If yes, how are the controls operated to make these adjustments in speed tone and volume? (Tactual identifiable controls) 3. Does your instruction manual have a large print and an audio format? 4. Demonstrate how the routine maintenance on the device (e.g. changing batteries, charging with an AC adapter) can be performed? 5. Does the device interface with version 27 of VA Computerized Patient Records Systems (CPRS)? 6. Does your software interface with any VA Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacies (CMOP) software? 7. If yes, at what CMOP have you demonstrated a viable interface? 8. Provide data on your product that addresses the expected lifecycle of the product with normal use. 9. Provide available data that addresses the safety of the device. 10. How does your system minimize the potential for human error? 11. Does your device have language options? If yes, please describe. 12. Does the device have separate earphone capabilities for privacy? 13. Please list the steps as to how pharmacists would enter a prescription. 14. Demonstrate the steps necessary for the end user to operate the device. 15. List all components necessary to operate and maintain the system at each facility. 16. Please explain your warranty program on the device. 17. Please list the education and training materials for your product which would be available for the VA facilities.
