Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE and not a request for quotation. The purpose of this announcement is to determine potential U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) certified 8(a), HubZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business sources with current relevant qualifications, experience, personnel, and the capability to perform this proposed project located at Fort Carson, CO. The Contractor will modify the ends of rail car bridge spanners (280 ea) constructed of aluminum channel. They will fabricate the handles and kick plates at their location and work on-site at Fort Carson to drill the bolt holes for the kick plates/mount t hem and bring a welding torch to attach the handles. A SITE VISIT WILL BE REQUIRED FROM POTENTIAL CONTRACTORS, BUT NOT FOR THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTIFICATION. 1. Description of Spanners: There are a total of 280 spanners. Each spanner is 10L x 2W x 3H and weighs 232 pounds and are constructed of 5 each I Beams 10 x 3 x 2.59 lb/ft aluminum and are covered with 3/8 Tread Plate Aluminum. 2. Handles on Spanners: Request fabrication of 4 handles for each spanner and that they are welded on each spanner as follows: " One handle on each side. " One handle at each end. " The grip part of the handles should be 12 long. " The handles should be mounted in the center of the outside I beams, at least 12 from each end. 3. Side Kick Plates (2 spanners only): Request fabrication of 2 each 2 long side Kick Plates for 2 spanners. " Kick plates should be constructed of 4 angle heavy duty aluminum. " Each kick plate should be bolted to the spanner 20 from each end of the spanner. " Both kick plates run parallel to and are bolted to the second I beam from the outside of the spanner. 4. Kick Plates (remaining 278 spanners): Request fabrication of 1 each 2 long side Kick Plate for 278 spanners. " Kick plates should be constructed of 4 angle heavy duty aluminum. " Kick plate should be bolted to the spanner 20 from the end of the spanner. " Kick plate should be bolted to the second and forth I beams across the width of the spanner.
