- Description
- Below are questions from potential offerors and associated answers. Several potential offerors requested the same information and the list below reflects a compilation of those questions and answers. Please note that the offer due date and time are being extended to allow any necessary revision to offers based on the information below. The new due date and time are: AUGUST 15, 2007 AT 12 NOON. If you have already submitted a proposal and would like to revise it based on the information below, you may due so. Please indicate that this it is a revised proposal in your email or fax. All other terms and conditions of the combined synopsis remain the same. Questions from Vendors: 1. Can the 30 mile range limit be waived or increased to approximately 40 miles? No ? the 30 mile range limit cannot be increased. 2. If the mileage range cannot be waived or increased, can the installations take place on-site at Quantico? If the selected vendor requires space to perform and complete the emergency equipment installations and can provide all needed supplies, tools, and equipment for the installations, CIRG would be able to provide space protected from outside elements. No automotive lifts, tools, supplies, equipment or manpower would be provided by CIRG. CIRG, (Federal Government), would not be held liable for any injury on or to and from the space provided. 3. The grill LED requirement states a '4" LED'. Can a 'Star 3.75 inch LED' (generally considered to be a superior grill light) be substituted? If not, please advise which manufacturer was used to determine the requirement. Yes, the 4 ? LED grill light can be substituted for an LED grill light within a quarter inch of specified specs, no less than or greater than a quarter inch and the light must maintain normal rectangular grill light specifications. 4. The 90 watt power supply description referenced only two strobe tubes to be installed in the headlights. Most current emergency equipment installs require at least two in the front and two in the rear. Please confirm this requirement. Only two front strobes installed at this time. The strobes are being utilized for alternate head light flashing, without interfering with the automobile?s normal lighting systems. 5. If the FBI only requires two strobe tubes, then a two position power-supply would be more cost effective. If more bulbs are to be added in the future, the 90 watt power supply is best, but if the requirement is for only two bulbs, can a two-position power-supply be substituted (50 watts)? No, the 90 watt power supply is needed for future usage. 6. Please list the make, model, and year of vehicles that equipment is to be installed on. Most vehicles will be either 2007 or 2008 model year. Chevy, Ford or Dodge makes. Models include Blazer, Tahoe, Suburban, Colorado PU, Silverado PU, Durango, Crown Vic and possible a few specialty vehicles. 7. The siren requirement mentions "Remote Capability" and "Microphone Controlled". Is this to be a voice activated siren? And, is the siren to be a hand-held siren? Please more clearly define this requirement. The requirement refers to the location of the siren package, which needs to be out of normal visual area from out side of vehicle. The remote capabilities refers to remote located switches, like under dash mounted or mounted in dash, which includes siren, whelp, phaser and air horn switches. The microphone must be mounted within reach of the driver. The microphone controlled is for the public address function of the siren.
