Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate with the University of Washington located in Seattle, Washington on a sole source basis to extend the current contract, N01-ES-15478, for six (6) months to acquire 7.5 Gene Equivalents (GEs) in the expanded re-sequencing effort in classes of environmentally responsive genes such as nuclear receptors, histone acetylases and deacetylases and DNA methylases and demthylases. The contractor will also continue to provide associated educational outreach. Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as set forth in FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306.302-1. Inherent duplication of costs to the Government, the need for consistency and compatibility in evaluation methods, and unnecessary delays in completing the anticipated genes render competition unfeasible. See notes No. 22 and 26.
