Description
The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to enter into a sole source contract with the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research (PEER) Center, a National Science Foundation sponsored research center located and managed by the University of California, Berkeley. The purpose of the project, entitled ?Next Generation Attenuation Relationship East (NGA-East) Program Development?, is to plan, organize and conduct an invitational workshop, a public workshop and a public meeting to focus on reducing uncertainty associated with seismic hazard assessments in the Central and Eastern United States. UC Berkeley?s PEER Center is the only known qualified source as it is the only organization globally to have undertaken this type of collaborative research on attenuation relationships, which are highly specialized in nature. The PEER Center also has established relationship with the leading attenuation model developers and is the predominant earthquake record database, making it uniquely placed to act as a clearing house for the NGA-East earthquake record database. The period of performance will be two (2) years. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Requests for copies of this solicitation will not be honored unless the respondent provides evidence showing their capability to perform the required services. Inquiries regarding this announcement may be made to Nicole Pratt, Contract Specialist by phone at (301) 415-0236 or via e-mail at nap1@nrc.gov. See Note 22.
