- The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to solicit for purchase of 50 each, Alignment Kit, Solar Noon, with Mounting Collar, Shadow Casting Stem, Translucent Plastic Protractor, Metal Protractor, in accordance with Drawing No. 62828-40337-10. The item is being purchased for the National Weather Service, to be delivered to the National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, MO. This item supports the National Weather Service (NWS) Automated surface & Operation System (ASOS) spare parts program. This requirement shall be considered a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this action is 339999. The Government will require first article testing under this requirement. The NWS special packaging/marking requirement will be applicable. The acquisition is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire under the guidelines under FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. All contractors doing business with the Central Region Acquisition Division (CRAD) must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) or certification with the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). This is a government initiative that was designed by the Integrated Acquisition Environment (IAE) to replace the paper Representations and Certifications (Reps & Certs) process. No award can be made unless the vendor is registered with CCR. In order to register with the CCR and ORCA offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet number. Copies of bid documents will be available via electronic means consisting of accessing the FedTeds system at https://www.fedteds.gov/. In order to access the FedTeds system, contractors must be registered with FedTeds. In order to receive the complete Request for Quotation (RFQ) package, interested firms may send an email request to karen.l.christian@noaa.gov or send a facsimile request to 816-274-6952, ATTN: Karen Christian. All sources submitting a written request for the (RFQ) package will be notified via email when documents are available and instructions on how to obtain them. The RFQ should be available on or about August 15, 2007. Hard copies of the drawings will not be available. Requests must include company name, address, Cage Code number DUNS number, phone number, fax number, and email address.
