Description
FA8629-07-C-2365, Radios. This is a presolicitation notice. The Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC), Battlefield Airmen Squadron (670th AESS) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Harris RF Communications to provide the following: 108 PRC-152 handheld radios, 108 Cobra waveform software, 108 high cap lithium ion battery pak, 108 antenna adapter assemblies, 108 1 bay battery charger, 54 MBHH PPP cable assemblies, 36 UHF handheld antennas, 12 6 bay battery chargers, 12 MBHH field programming cable assemblies, Included in this total is an option to purchase the final AN/PRC-152(V)2(C) radio set, including the radio, cobra wave form, battery pak, antenna adapter assembly and some of the cables. Option exercise will occur as soon as FY08 funding is received. The Harris Falcon radio systems are recognized as the premier multiband man-packable radios and are used by USSOCOM, USAF, USN, USMC, USA and NATO. The AN/PRC-152 is a multiband/multi-mission man-packable radio similar to the RF-300M-MP without the ability to do Satellite Communications (SATCOM) but capable of operating in the High Frequency (HF) range. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The government intends to award the effort pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 since Harris is the only firm that currently manufactures these radios. The proposed contractual action has an expected period of performance of 180 days.
