Description
DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army Apache Attack Helicopter Project Office is seeking sources with designs or products for a seat cushion replacement for the AH-64A and AH-64D Apache Attack Helicopter. The AH-64 is the U.S. Armys primary attack helicopter and is designed to fight during the day, night and in adverse weather. Aircrews are currently enduring extended mission times, longer time in the cockpit, and aggressive flight maneuvers, leading to increased fatigue and degradation of mission capability. In an effort to improve safety and mission capability, the Apache Attack Helicopte r Project Office is seeking seat cushions from companies that have experience in manufacturing seat cushions for the Apache Attack Helicopter. REQUIREMENTS: The candidate seat cushions must fit within the dimensions of the existing Apache Helicopter seats, and must be able to function with the existing restraint system. Previously designed/proven packages are preferred. The seat cushion must not interfere with the aircraft safety or adversely affect aircraft weight and bala nce limitations. The U.S. Army seeks vendors to provide conceptual papers, design information, technology availability, design maturity, identification of risks, product descriptions, support requirements, prototypes, crashworthiness and environmental tes t data, and/or reliability data as related to their respective products. Provide previous/current Government contract numbers as applicable, and a synopsis of previous/current work involving the AH-64A/D aircraft. Innovative ideas and solutions are strong ly encouraged. All interested sources are encouraged to submit written notification of their interest and qualifications involving the production of Apache seat by email to steven-cosgray@us.army.mil or to USAAMCOM, PEO Aviation, Apache Project Office, and ATTN: SFAE-AV-AAH-BP, Bldg 5681, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898. Your responses are required by 10 September 2007. Submitted documentation upon delivery becomes the property of the U.S. Government. Submissions will not be returned. The submission of this inf ormation is for planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any items, nor does the U.S. Army intend to award on the basis of this request for sources sought or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
