- Description
- The Government is soliciting for contractors to provide all labor, supervision, management, tools, materials, equipment, facilities, inventory control, transportation, incidental engineering and other items necessary to revitalize whole house of the CNFJ Sasebo Housing Welcome Center by means of a design and build firm-fixed price contract as follows. ARCHITECTURAL WORK: (1) Remove all existing floors with joist system, and provide new floors with wood underlayer & metal joist system; (2) Remove all existing wall boards & tile with asbestos containing board, insulation, deteriorated wood stud, closet selves & hanger pipes, and provide new wall boards & tile with insulation, wood stud, closet selves & hanger pipes; (3) Remove all existing ceiling boards with wood suspended system, asbestos containing board, insulation & access hatches, and provide new ceiling boards with metal suspended system, insulation & access hatches; (4) Remove all existing aluminum windows & glass block windows with wood trim, Venetian blinds & curtain rails, and provide new aluminum windows with wood trim, Venetian blinds & curtain rails; (5) Remove all existing kitchen base cabinets, wall cabinets, laundry cabinets, lavatory cabinets & medicine cabinets, and provide new kitchen base cabinets, wall cabinets, laundry cabinets, lavatory cabinets & medicine cabinets; (6) Remove all existing wooden interior doors with frame, and provide new wooden doors with frame; (7) Remove all existing wooden stair handrails, and provide new wooden stair handrails; (8) Remove existing storage shed, and provide new concrete storage shed for Bldg 539-A/B. MECHANICAL WORK: (1) Remove gas (?Toshi-gas?) piping system in the building. Remove gas (?Toshi-gas?) piping systems from nearest point of outside under ground piping to the building. Plug remaining underground gas (?Toshi-Gas?) piping ends located outside the building; (2) Remove heating hot water piping system, which were used for convectors, in building. Remove heating hot water piping systems from nearest point of outside under ground piping to the building. Plug remaining underground heating hot water piping ends located outside the building; (3) Replace cold water piping, from outside water stop valve to fixtures, with new; (4) Replace domestic hot water piping, from GFM hot water heater to fixtures, with new; (5) Replace sewer/drain water piping, from outside first manhole to fixtures, with new; (6) Replace vent piping systems for the building, with new; (7) Replace dish washer, cooking stove, and oven with GFMs; (8) Replace plumbing fixtures, plumbing accessories, hose bibs, bath tub, shower set, soap dish, towel bar, curtain rod, floor drain, exhaust fans, range hood fan, ducts and vent cap with new; (9) Replace gas operated hot water heater with new GFM electric type hot water heater; (10) Remove air conditioning inside units and controller temporarily and reinstall them with chemical cleaning as the work progress. Remove pipe shaft panel where necessary, and provide new panel and paint new panel same as adjacent finish; (11) Provide new sprinkler systems for buildings 520, 538, 539, and 541; (12) Provide new water flow meter for potable cold water at each unit?s outside water stop valve; (13) Provide new backflow preventing devices and clean outs in accordance with IPC. ELECTRICAL WORK: (1) Remove existing interior and exterior lighting fixtures, tumbler switches, photo electrical switches and conduit wiring. Provide new interior and exterior lighting fixtures, tumbler switches, photo electrical switches (electronical solar time switch) and conduit wiring; (2) Remove existing interior and exterior receptacle outlet conduit. Abandon existing conduit embedded in concrete floor and wall. Provide new interior and exterior receptacle outlets and conduit wiring; (3) Remove existing door chimes, push button switches, and wiring. Provide new door chimes, push button switches and wiring; (4) Remove existing main panelboard lighting panelboard and entrance cap and conduit wiring. Provide new main panelboards, lighting panelboards and conduit wiring;(5) Remove existing A/C control panel ?MP-1? at Bldg 538, 540, and 524, and provide new A/C control panel for Bldg 538, 540, and 524; new main panel board shall include ?MP-1?; (6) Provide new breaker boxes and conduit wiring for hot water heater; (7) Remove existing electrical overhead service cables. Provide new electrical overhead service cables; (8) Remove existing pole mounted transformers and associated device. Provide new pole mounted transformers and associated devices; (9) Remove existing overhead telephone cable with messenger wire. Remove existing telephone terminal cabinets at Bldg. 520, 524, 538, and 540. Remove existing exterior and interior telephone cables, conduit, pull boxes and telephone outlets. Remove existing exterior and interior TV cables installed by the Government, conduit TV outlet and associated device. Provide new sub telephone terminal cabinets in each unit, telephone outlets, conduit wiring. Provide new sub TV equipment box in each units, TV outlets and empty conduit with pull wire; (10) Remove existing smoke detectors and wiring. Provide new smoke detectors(GFM) and conduit wiring; (11) Provide new grounding system; (12) Reroute existing underground wiring for street light; (13) Remove existing underground wiring, and provide new underground wiring for storage shed of Bldg 539-A/B. Provide new lighting and receptacle systems for storage shed of Bldg 539-A/B. These work shall be provided in Main Base Sasebo Housing Area. Award of this contract will be based on best value source selection.
