Description
Security Camera questions - answers W905MW71650010 - W81R8T71650010 ***The solicitation includes the words License Plate Reader. In normal parlance, this means that the system can capture an image of the plate and use optical character recognition (OCR) techniques to convert the license plate number to an ascii represen tation that can be stored in a database as part of a transaction, along with a compressed version of the image. This would allow you to be able to search through the transactions using the license number and also to be able to create a hot list of license numbers that would trigger an alarm when a vehicle with a license number that is on the hot list passes through a gate. Is this what was envisioned here or are you just looking to capture the rear image of each vehicle and store it for three days. ***Answer: We want to capture the license Plate and driver of the vehicle and be able to store and download the information if needed. ***The solicitation states that the system shall have the ability to be monitored, recorded, and operated from a central dispatch center up to 10 miles from the camera. Are we to assume that the communications link exists between the central dispatch cent er and the gates? ***Answer: Yes or will be will be installed by YPG ***We assume that we would have internet connectivity at each of the gate locations. ***Answer: Your assumption is correct. ***In a visit to YPG one year ago, the Main entrance was made up of an Enter lane lined with cement barriers forcing a zigzag approach. There was a separate Exit lane. The Gate to the Commissary/PX Area was the same. Are the other two gates in questi on similar? ***Answer: There are three other gates and yes they are similar. ***My only question is, item no. 9, Operational range from 15 to at least 50 feet. Is this for the overview camera or the LPR system? ***Answer: The LPR system ***Through research on the Yuma Proving grounds facility, we are aware that there is an extensive network of fiber optic links between tests sites and remote facilities. Are there any existing and available fiber links between the proposed camera location s (4 gates) and the remote viewing station locale? If not, could they be provided? ***Answer: Yes, the could be provided by YPG
