Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO)page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopses and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract to Lockheed Martin, Maritime Systems and Sensors, 2323 Eastern Boulevard, Baltimore, Maryland, 21220, for technical and engineering services during FY08-FY12 for the MK 41 Vertical Launching Systems (VLS) program. The scope of the effort will include logistics and technical services to support the Life Cycle Support Facility (LCSF), integration of new missiles into VLS, integration of VLS into new ships (FMS and USN), product improvement engineering, systems engineering, computer program engineering, failure analyses, creation and prototyping of engineering change proposals, and production support. Additional efforts may include repair of depot level repairable items, failure assessments, procurement and replenishment of repair piece part components and requisitions for fleet and shore based facilities, and providing support to the Technical Direction Agent, In-Service Engineering Agent, and System Integ ration Agent. The anticipated contract period of performance for this requirement will be from date of contract award through twelve (12) months thereafter, with four one (1) year options. Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor for the MK 41 launcher and associated equipment. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Lockheed Martin directly. See Numbered Note 22.
