- Description
- The Government intends to procure Archival Specialist services to support the Chief of Chaplains at the Chaplains Resources Branch Office in Norfolk, Virginia. The contractor shall perform archival services for historical background of several religious programs. The services shall include, but not limited to the following: (1) Appraisal, accession, allocation and disposal. The contractor shall acquire and/or receive records and related material officially transferred to the Chaplains Corps Archives; determine the archival/historical value, distribute records/material for the Navy and Marines. Transfer/dispose of records/materials after disposition has been determined, i.e., evaluate the transfer of 3-D objects to the Chaplains Corps Museum and the Naval Chaplains School located in Newport, RI. (2) The contractor shall be responsible for identification, arrangement and description of various archival displays during exhibition. Determine and follow specific procedures for records. The contractor shall describe historical data and identify the major parts, i.e., subgroups and series. (3) Preservation, rehabilitation and maintenance. The contractor shall preserve records and/or materials, and ensure maintenance/proper up-keep. (4) Displays. Using a large variety of materials, prepare historical displays for use at multiple places and special occasions. (5) The contractor shall photograph subject material for display/exhibitions. (6) Notify the command Chaplain by telephone unable to perform services due to scheduled time off, illness, inclement weather and/or emergency leave, etc., and (7) Arrange absences (i.e.), vacations and holidays two (2) weeks in advance. This requirement is a 100% small business set-aside. The requirement will be procured competitively under Simplified Acquisition procedures. This office will no longer issue a hard copy of the Request For Quote (RFQ); therefore, a copy can be obtained from website https://www.neco.navy.mil. By submitting an offer, the vendor is self-certifying that neither the requestor nor the principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to do so may represent grounds for refusing to accept the offer. By submission of an offer, the contractor acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee must be registered in the CCR database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from this RFQ, except for awards to foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make a contractor ineligible for award. Contractors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 1-888-227-2423, or via the Internet at https://www.bpn.gov. The RFQ shall be posted on or before 7 September 2007.
