- This is a combined/solicitation Notice of Intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NOI7126 and the solicitation is being issued as a Notice of Intent. This solicitation document and its incorporated provisions are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC 2005-19). This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) intend to procure from Amaxa Inc for a Nucleofector 96-Well Shuttle & Nucleofector II Device. The Nucleofector software is custom made for selection and storage of custom programs. The contractor must include the following: (1) laptop, (2) software for Nucleofector 96-well Shuttle, and Nucleofector II Device. The contractor shuttle must: (1) deliver DNA directly into the nucleus, allowing even non-dividing primary cells (such as resting T cells or neurons) to be transfect with efficiencies up to 95%, (2) pre-equipped with software interface for integration into automated systems, (3) use RNAi based target identification and validation, (4) power supply 110 VAC + 10%/-20% or 230 VAC + 10%/-20% 50-60 Hz, self-regulating, and (5) identical conditions are used for the nucleofection of DNA, siRNA, miRNA or shRNA vectors. The shuttle transfection flexibility consist of: (1) modular 2 x 8 Nucleocuvette plate for scalable throughout, (2) up to 96 independent programs can be run per plate. The North American Industry Classification System (NIACS) Code for this acquisition is 334516, and the small-business size standard is 500 employees. This is a firm fixed-price contract and the FOB terms are (Destination) and Net 30.
