- The FAA intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for the Uncoupling of Runway 6R/24L at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Cleveland, Ohio. The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment to perform the project in accordance with the contract provisions, specifications and drawings. The work consists of, but not limited to, the following: 1. Construction of the Temporary Runway 24L Straight-In Localizer antenna array. 2. Construction of the Runway 24L SOIA Localizer facility. 3. Construction of the Runway 24L Straight-In Localizer facility. 4. Construction of the Runway 6R Combined Straight-In and SOIA Glide Slope facility. 5. Construction of the Runway 24L Combined Straight-In and SOIA Glide Slope facility. 6. Replacement of the Runway 6R Localizer equipment shelter. 7. Construction of the DME at the Runway 6R Localizer site. 8. Construction of the DME at the Runway 24L Localizer site. 9. Relocation of the existing Runway 6R/24L New Generation RVR facilities. 10. Installation of fiber optic cabling between the Runway 6R Glide Slope, 24L Localizer, 24L Glide Slope and 6R MALSR facilities and between the Runway 6R Glide Slope and the Electric Vault EV-10 and the ASR/RTR G site. 11. Miscellaneous civil and electrical work as described in the drawings and specifications. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. Contract performance time is 350 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of project as October 1, 2007. Subject project will contain a Construction Phasing Plan based on the availability of specific construction sites. The FAA contractor will be working in conjunction with the Airport's contractor, and all work under subject project must be coordinated and scheduled accordingly. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $750,000 and $1,000,000. NAICS is 237990. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK AT AN OPERATIONAL AIRPORT. THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE FURNISHED TO THE FIRST FIFTEEN GENERAL CONTRACTORS WHO RESPOND TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract.
