Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 001 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR CENTRAL CONTROL WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to address/clarify questions and extend the due date of this solicitation. 1.) QUESTION: Please explain the thermal disk unit that will show pH, time and amount of discharge. We need a little bit more information that pertains to this requirement. ANSWER: The thermal disk is a disk printer that will provide a paper copy that we can keep in our records that will show the date, time, pH and the amount of discharge. 2.) QUESTION: Is there a schematic for how this system is to work? ANSWER: No QUESTION 2b: We would like to see a physical layout schematic for the tanks, baths, trenches, Etc. ANSWER: We have a schematic of the trenches; also we have a drawing of the plating shop layout that shows all the baths. These will be uploaded shortly. 3.) QUESTION: Are there 43 baths in total? ANSWER: No there are 52. Only 22 will Plating Baths that will require controlling bythis system. The others are deionized rinse tanks. QUESTION 3b: If so, will each bath require 6 solenoids, audio & visual alarms, and two conductivity sensors & monitors? ANSWER: Each of the 22 baths will require solenoids for controlling the water input, audio and visual alarms are needed for each bath so that we can be alerted to any problem. 4.) QUESTION: How many trenches are there? ANSWER: There are 5 trenches. QUESTION 4b: We would also like to know if there are alarms for each trench? ANSWER: Yes, there needs to be a switch that will trigger an alarm if the level is up too high. QUESTION 4c: What type of bottles and cylinders are going to need to be replaced and how frequently? ANSWER: Some of the cylinders have an anion resin cylinders and some have a cation resin. I can't answer how frequently. It all depends on the amount of water being run through them. When they do need to be replaced they should be replaced within 48 hours. 5.) QUESTION: Are the 6 solenoids for the emergency shut-off? ANSWER: Answer is pending. 6.) QUESTION: We're also going to need to know the location of the equipment relative to the monitoring and control devices. ANSWER: The Waste Treatment Facility (WTF) will be monitored from the office areas as well as in the WTF itself. The controls will be in the WTF. 7.) What is the extent of the service & training? ANSWER: Service is to take care of the entire system (e.g., replacing cylinder bottles, pumps, alarms and computer system etc.). Training should be at least 2 days. This training should cover all aspects of the system. 8.) QUESTION: If no schematics are available, is a site walk through going to available? ANSWER: Answer is Pending. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to THURSDAY September 13, 2007 at 4:30pm, EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST). Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on September 13, 2007. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
