Description
The National Institute on Aging, IRP, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with Tecniplast, for 15 each ventilated top flow mouse racks, 8 each hepa filter blowers, 20 each rat racks TP racks, 10 each rat racks TP blowers, 8 each rabbit racks. Currently, we have 35 Tecniplast racks in service and need to maintain compatibility to our existing equipment and uniformity to ensure the continued efficient use of manpower and equipment and the interchangeability of parts. Tecniplast caging has proven to be reliable and has protected the health and well being of our animals. Tecniplast is the only known source capable of producing this product. This sole source determination was made based on results from a market survey. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 332618 and the size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirement of Far Part 6, Competition Requirement. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This action is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set forth in Far 6.302-1(a)(2). Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however all proposals received within 10 days after publication of this synposis will be considered by the Government. The determination by the government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
