- Description
- The Government is seeking Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business's/ Veteran Owned Business's interested in the following: Fume Hood Inspection Scope of equipment and services performed follows: Preventive Maintenance and Repair Service: 1. Service shall consist of technical inspections, cleaning, oiling, adjusting, calibrating, replacing all parts (including dry batteries, UV Lamps, Hepa filters) without additional cost to the Government, and maintaining the equipment in first class operating condition, including all intervening calls necessary between regular inspections but excepting services necessitated by accident, fire, or abuse. Service shall further consist of decontamination of the cabinets, pre-filters and re-certification as required. Components to be repaired/replaced, which are in the contaminated portion of the cabinet, shall be decontaminated prior to component repair/replacement. Cabinet shall be re-certified should replacement of any component affect certification. Inspection and certification shall include: a. Checking the Hepa filter integrity and integrity of filter to cabinet seals in accordance with the American Association for Contamination Control Tentative Standard for Laminar Flow Clean Air Devices CS-2T May 17, 1968, b. Checking and adjusting the airflow. c. Checking the remaining Hepa filter life. d. Checking the UV lamps remission in the germicidally effective range 230 to 270 nm. e. Check cabinet leakage test and other testing as may be desirable. Should any component of the biological containment hood need repair/replacement in a contaminated portion, the hood shall be decontaminated prior to component repair/replacement. If replacement of any component affects certification, the hood shall be re-certified. The contractor shall make thorough technical inspections of the equipment covered as specified in the Schedule. Within ten (10) days after award of the contract, the contractor shall submit a schedule of PM's for each piece of equipment listed. In no event shall more than 6 months elapse between inspections. Equipment placed under maintenance service for the first time shall be in good operating condition and shall be subject to inspection by the contractor within 30 days after award of the contract. During this 30-day period, the contractor shall reject the equipment (first time maintenance service) if he/she deems it to be in poor operating condition. Failure to reject such equipment shall constitute acceptance. A rejection notice shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer along with a cost proposal to place the equipment in a condition, which would make it acceptable for maintenance service. The Contracting Officer reserves the rights to either order the equipment repaired or delete the specific item of equipment from the contract. Any equipment, which was maintained under a previous contract, shall be deemed acceptable for maintenance under contract resulting from this solicitation.
