- Description
- The National Institute on Aging, IRP, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a non-competitive basis with StemCell Technologies, 570 West Seventh Avenue, Suite 400, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V5Z 1B3 for the RoboSep- Fully Automated Cell Separator, which includes, (4) Four ? The Big Easy? EasySep magnet, lid, carousel, power cable, service rack, hydraulic fluid bottle and tubing, calibration rig software, protocol editor software, cross-over Ethernet cable, sixteen RoboSep tips, user manual, shipping crate, on-site visit for installation and one year parts and labor warranty to reproductively isolate hematopoietic sub-populations, including stem cells, with a minimum of DNA/cellular damage. An automated cell separation system satisfies these requirements while avoiding the need for a more expensive flow cytometer. RoboSep is fully automated and the more automated the system, the higher likelihood that sample to sample variation will be reduced. RoboSep offers the best chance for reproducibility and is significantly less expensive than other cell separation systems. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 541710 and the size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirement of Far Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the government.
