- Description
- 9/19/2007 Seeking Suppliers for Information on Standardization of Nurse Call Systems This is a request for information for Nurse Call Systems. The Department of Veteran Affairs, National Acquisition Center (NAC) is not seeking to procure a Nurse Call System at this time, but only to gather information on products that will enable our team to make an intelligent decision regarding the care of our veterans. The VA, NAC, is conducting market research for various types of call systems that will empower the medical staff to make better healthcare decisions and facilitate patient safety, via a system that combines the latest in communication system hardware and software e.g., voice/visual intercoms, call switches, wireless intercoms/pendants and those models that have a remote alarm announcement. Upgrading or replacement of existing VA systems is a beneficial consideration to any previously installed nurse call system. Professional Clinicians, Nurses, and Technicians from various VA Hospitals will participate in the market research to help identify requirements for a system or systems, that will replace the many outdated platforms across VHA. There will be a Vendor Product Presentation, which will be held in Chicago in October 30-31, and Nov.1, 2007, at the Department of Veterans Affairs, National Acquisition Center, Building 37, 1 block North Cermak Road, Hines, Illinois. Each vendor will be scheduled and given 1 ½ for set-up, demonstrations/presentations, questions/answer segment and disassemble. The clinical staff from the VA and Contract Officers/Specialists will be available during each scheduled presentation for questions and answers. Once more, this will be an information only product presentation; therefore, company representatives who attend must be extremely knowledgeable, experienced, informative, and educated on the operations of their particular solution for a Nurse Call System. The VA team will not only look at all sample call-systems but will inquire about the products' features and view product slides and demonstrations. This market research will allow our team members to obtain an assessment of the products' features specifications.
