PARSONS, in support of the Salt Waste Processing Facility Project is issueing this sources sought notification for the following: to vendors to supply a spray-on polyurea coating system that meets or exceeds the listed specifications within the limitations of the following codes and standards, sprayed on at a posit 40 mil-thick on vertical surfaces and posit 60 mil-thick on horizontal surfaces. 1. Surface burning characteristics - ASTM E84, NFPA 253 - Class A Wall finish - Flame spread index (FSI): ? 25, Smoke developed index (SDI): ? 450, Class I Floor finish - Critical radiant flux (CRF) ? 0.45 W/cm2. 2. Chemical resistance ASTM D3912 - Chemical resistance ASTM D3912. 3. Radioactive material compatibility ASTMD 4082 and ASTMD 4256 - Liquid phase radionuclide: Stream No. 233, 40-yr gamma radiation absorbed dose (RAD): ? 40,000 gamma RAD, Decontamination factor (DF): ?20 after initial water wash and ?100 after additional rinsing or chemical washing 4. Microbial resistance ASTM G21- The coating shall have high resistance to microbial attack and shall be resistant to anti-microbial solutions 5. Fuel Load - The coating?s added increment to the Facility's fuel load shall not significantly increase radiological consequences. 6. Electrostatic charge potential - The coating shall not have the ability to generate sufficient energy through electrostatic charge to combust solvent vapor. 7. Elongation ASTM D638 - Elongation ASTM D638. 8. Tensile strength ASTM D638 - ? 2500 psi. 9. Adhesion to substrate ASTM D4541 - Steel: ?1000 psi Concrete: ?300 psi or concrete failure. 10. Crack-bridging capability ASTM C836 - The coating shall be capable of completely filling or bridging cracks in the substrate. 11. Abrasion resistance ASTM D4060 - ? 10 mg loss. 12. Impact resistance ASTM D2794 - ?160 in-lb, direct and indirect. 13. Water vapor transmission ASTM E96 - ?0.03 perm. 14. Temperature resistance - 0 to 120 ?F ambient air temperature 60 to 109 ?F process liquid. 15. Moisture resistance - 0 to 100% ambient relative humidity. 16. Color - Gray or near white. 17. Labeling - The coating surface shall accept paint for labeling purposes. 18. VOC compliance ASTM D3960 - 0. 19. Design life - 25 year. Tests using the specific Salt Waste Processing Facility coating application formulation, thickness, and finish would be needed to verify that the surface burning characteristics are acceptable to applicable NFPA codes (2003). **Please contact Lisa Hall at 803-641-8943 or Lisa.Hall@parsons.com with your expression of interest.
