Description

This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. However, Request for Quotation (RFQ)08SQ301022 will be issued simultaneously with this annoucement to facilitate receipt of electronic quotes. This RFQ is issued under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is 100% set aside for small business. The NAICS Code is 333923, Overhead Traveling Crane, Hoist and Monorail System Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 Employees. The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region (LCR), has a requirement for the services of a Contractor to accomplish the design and manufacture of a new 5 ton Trolley for the Shaw Box Crane as follows: a)The Contractor shall make its own, independent determination that the existing crane bridge can be up rated to a 5 ton capacity safely. The existing crane bridge and trolley is rated at 4 tons. b)The Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, parts and components to design and manufacture a new 5 ton trolley for the existing Shaw Box crane located on the Second Floor of the power house at the turbine pits in Hoover Dam. This crane is used for disassembling and reassembly of the Hydro-turbines in Hoover Dam. It is used on a daily basis for approximately 6 months each year during the winter months from October through May. Existing rail size is 40 lb/yd. Furnish trolley design with drum parallel to the girders and double reeved for true vertical lift. Trolley must be supplied with lifting lugs capable of picking the trolley in a vertical position for movement to another location. Furnish rotating axels and end trucks and stops. The hoist motor shall be a 60 minute, class F insulation type motor. The trolley motor shall be a 30 minute, class F insulation type motor. Furnish hoist and trolley brakes designed for the capacity of the crane. Trolley must have mechanical load brake. Trolley must have 5 ton capacity plates on load block. The spread of the trolley is 48". Hoist and trolley controls shall be infinitely variable wireless control. The trolley should also be wired with a hand held push button pendant control which could be used for back up to the radio controls if they fail. Lift to be approximately 31 feet. Hoist speed approximately 16 FPM. Power supply to crane is 460 volt, 3 phases, 60 cycles. Power cord should be attached to the trolley by a cord reel with a capacity of 100' feet of 460 volt power cord. Provide two (2) each hand held wireless remote controls for the crane. The Trolley must be painted with one coat primer and two coats of industrial grade enamel paint, yellow in color. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with industry standards for this type of work. The estimated delivery date is 45 days after award of purchase order. The RFQ contains a Statement of Work and Applicable Clauses and Provisions.
