- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Stars & Stripes Healthcare Network (VISN 4) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with The University of Pittsburgh, Division of Laboratory Animal Resource. The sole source acquisition is enacted in accordance with existing authority under FAR 6.302-1. The contract is to provide housing and care for Rhesus Monkeys, in support of an unsolicited research proposal. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 561990 and the small business size standard is $6.5 million. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responsible sources interested in this procurement shall submit on their company letterhead a statement, which contains clear and convincing information identifying their capabilities to provide the service. Supporting evidence must include specific details, to include procedures while still maintaining proper protocols and satisfying all laws and regulations. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in writing no later than 1:00 pm local time, October 30, 2007 at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (04A1-H), 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206, attention, John W. Byrne, via email to John.Byrne2@va.gov. Inquiries will only be accepted in writing by mail or email to the addresses provided. If no responses are received, the Stars & Stripes Healthcare Network will proceed with sole source negotiations with The University of Pittsburgh.
