Description
AMCOM is interested in seeking information on disposition and reuse alternatives for LX-14 recovered from TOW Missile Warheads. The current missile demilitarization program seeks to increase environmentally acceptable alternatives to conventional Op en Burn/Open Detonation (OB/OD) through closed disposal and component/compound reuse techniques. As a result large quantities of LX-14 will require final disposition or reuse over the next 7 years. The government is seeking industry responses that use pr ocesses, equipment and facilities that do not require research and development and/or facilitization. This notice constitutes a request for information (RFI) from sources with expertise and knowledge of disposal and alternative uses for LX-14. It is intended that this RFI be open 14 days from the date of publication. Information may be submitted by any non-governmental entity including commercial firms, institutions of higher education with degree-granting programs in science and/or engineerin g (universities), or by consortia led by such concerns. AMCOM encourages participation by small business, small disadvantaged business, Hub-zone small business, woman-owned small business, veteran owned small business and historically black colleges and universities and minority institutions. This RFI is used for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.202(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. All interested responsible businesses are encouraged to submit questions or comments at any time prior to expiration of this RFI. A complete copy of the RFI and response instructions can be found at webs ite: \https://wwwproc.redstone.army.mil/acquisition/.
