Description
The Office of Naval Research (ONR) intends to award a contract to Hewlett Packard Company, located at 300 Minuteman Road, Andover, MA 01810-1032 to procure hardware maintenance services on its HP/UX hardware and software located at Bolling Air Force Base. The contractor will be responsible for monitoring and providing maintenance service 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, with minimal downtown. ONR?S mission critical data and applications are housed on this equipment and system availability is essential to the command operations. The Government intends to issue an order in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 -Acquisition of Commercial Items. The order will contain a base period and two option periods. The period of performance for the base period will be from the effective date of order through five (5) months and the period of performance for each option period will be from the date of option exercise through three (3) months. ONR is in the implementation stages of a server farm refresh that will replace most of the equipment and is scheduled for deployment in calendar year 2008. Once the server farm is deployed, the need to support the HP/UX hardware and software located at Bolling Air Force Base will significantly decrease as most of the applications will migrate to the new technology and others will transition over time. Responses to this notice must be received no later than 2:00 PM on 30 October 2007. Any responses received after the exact time and date specified in this notice is "late" and will not be considered.
