- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation notice for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation is an RFQ and the solicitation number is W15QKN-08-T-0115. Closing date for this requirement is November 9, 2007@ 4:00pm est. The US Army JM&L LCMC intends to award on a Sole Source basis to Maruka U.S.A. Inc. the requirement for a Mori Seiki NH-5000 DCG High Speed Horizontal Machining in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2) Unusual and Compelling Urgency as implemented by FAR 6.302-2(a)(2). Statement of Work: The Prototype Manufacturing Team (PMT), is enhancing their equipment and capabilities to provide manufacturing support for the development of small arms parts and various other Metal Parts in support of the ARDEC Rapid Prototyping Facility and the Global War On Terror. One of the tasks is the machining of the M2 Barrel Extension Assembly; this requires the purchase of a Precision High Speed Horizontal Machining Center due to the tight tolerances and finishes that are required. Prior to delivery, the vendor will supply installation requirements so ARDEC may prepare site. Once the site is prepared, ARDEC will notify contractor with specific point of delivery. ARDEC will be responsible for unloading, putting in place and running the required utilities to the machine. ARDEC will notify the vendor when machine is in place to schedule final installation. The vendor will then do the final installation, startup and debug at ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal. 52.252-2 Clauses Incorporated by Reference (Feb 1998).
