- Description
- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. This NOI is not a small business set aside. This solicitation and its incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-08. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) Branch, on behalf of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on sole source bases with University of Washington 1100 NE 45th St. Ste 300 Seattle, WA. 98105 for the following education and collaboration work between the Koretsky Group and the Krishnan Group at UW. The University of Washington shall provide synthesize nanoparticles of controlled size, narrow size distribution and tailored morphologies for reflexivity measurements at NIH. In addition to syntheses the particles will be well characterized to determine their hydrodynamic volume (dynamic light scattering), microstructure (transmission electron microscopy) and magnetic properties. This collaborative project must remain between NIH and the University of Washington. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition and is except from the requirements of FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. No electronic or facsimile submissions or collect calls will be accepted.
