Description
I. INTRODUCTION. A. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.6 as supplemented with additional information in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are bein g requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. B. The combined synopsis and Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is: TARDEV00708. C. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-20, Effective 6 Sept. 2007. D. This is 100% small business set aside, the NAICS code applicable to this acquisition is 488991, with a size standard of $23.5 million. E. Basis for award  The US Army TACOM LCMC intends make an award to the company offering the crates and packaging that meets the minimum requirements set forth below at the lowest price. F. Finished packages/crates shall be quoted FOB Delivery to Texarkana, TX. G. This acquisition is rated DO-A4 under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS). II. GENERAL. A. The United States Army Tank and Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) in Warren, Michigan has a requirement for two (2) types of crates (type A and B). These crates shall be built by the contractor and shipped to Destination according to the below delivery schedule. The crates shall meet the following minimum requirements: Specifications/Requirements for Crate type (A): -Number of Crates type (A): Forty-eight (48) -Dimensions: 42 X 41 X 18.5 -Must be able to support 400 lb weight of the tool kits -Made from wood that will support the weight - Two (2) 2 x 4's, 35 for each crate -Crates should be marked to read: SPECIAL TOOLS KIT, A1 SUSTAINMENT MAINTENANCE (42 X 41 X 18.5) 57K2707-003 NSN 5180-01-545-9964 QTY: 1 EA Specifications/Requirements for Crate type (B): -Number of Crates type (B): One hundred seventy eight (178) -Dimensions: 36.5 X 16.75 X 16.25 -Must be able to support 150 lb weight of the tool kits -Made from wood that will support the weight -Two (2) 2 x 4's, 30 for each crate -Crates should be marked to read: SPECIAL TOOLS KIT, A1 SUSTAINMENT MAINTENANCE (36.5 X 16.75 X 16.25) 57K2708-003 NSN 5180-01-545-9967 QTY: 1 EA The minimum delivery schedule shall be: Quantity Description Days after receipt of Award (DARO) 48 Type (A) Crates 14 78 Type (B) Crates 21 50 Type (B) Crates within 50 DARO 50 Type (B) Crates within 60 DARO Contractor may accelerate delivery schedule at no cost to the Government. The crates shall be shipped FOB Destination to: Defense Distribution Depot Red River Bldg 499, 10TH STREET & K AVENUES Texarkana, TX 75507-5000 M/F: OP/CD 9, (FMTV PM) PROJ CD: IIL Attn: PAULA DEWBERRY: 903-334-3897 DODAAC: SW3227 B. Submittal Instructions. Quotations must be received by TACOM no later than 1:00 PM-EST, 21 November 2007. Email quotations to john.sarti@us.army.mil . Contractors must be listed in the Central Contractor Registry prior to receiving an award. Refer to website www.ccr.gov for re gistration information.
