This Request for Information (RFI) is for use by the Air Force (AF) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Mode 5 Cryptographic Program Management Office (PMO), Cryptologic Systems Group (CPSG), Lackland Air Force Base, Texas for planning purposes only. This RFI does not constitute an invitation for bids, a request for proposal, a solicitation, a request for quote or an indication that the Government will contract for the items provided by the respondent. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any costs associated with the preparation or submission of the information requested. The primary intent of this RFI is to identify companies with the independent capability to produce the KIV-78 Combined Interrogator Transponder Appliqu? (CITA) (NSN 5810-01-539-3414CA/PN 0N706722). The following conditions must be met in order for the KIV-78 End Cryptographic Units (ECUs) to be considered production ready: NSA Type 1 certified; DoD AIMS PO certified as DoD AIMS 04-900 Option A compliant; demonstrated interoperability with AN/APX-113 or other IFF Mode 4/5 host equipment to include test equipment; CPSG validated acceptance plans/tools; and NSA approved security production assurance for a production line capable of a 360 units/year rate. The CPSG AF IFF Mode 5 Crypto PMO requests that industry provide information regarding their ability to independently produce the KIV-78 to include a complete and detailed explanation of the technical data rights (per DFARS 252.227-7013 and DFARS 252.227-7014) owned and/or shared by the respondent. Responses shall indicate the extent, if any, of subcontracting required to produce, assemble, and test the complete KIV-78 assembly or any component(s) thereof. If subcontracting is required, then the respondent must indicate if there is a specific company or companies that the respondent must team with to produce the KIV-78 CITA. Please provide your response no later than COB 10 December 2007 directly to CPSG/PK, Deirdre K. McCormick, Contracting Officer via email at Deirdre.McCormick@lackland.af.mil.
