- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) webpage located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) website located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to award on a competitive basis a purchase order for a quantity of (1) Re-locatable Reverberation Chamber with the following requirements. The Chamber shall be designed to be moved with a crane and to withstand routine cross country transport by commercial truck. Construction - welded steel. Wall thickness - 0.125 (11 gauge). Overall chamber dimensions ? 9? 10? wide x 12? 6? high x 23? long. Dimensional tolerance - +0?/-0.5?. Oper ational Frequency Range ? 150 MHz to 18 GHz. Overall dimensions shall not be exceeded when unit is configured for shipping. Tuner driver motors, lifting eyes, door handles, etc. which can be removed for shipping purposes are permitted to exceed overall dimensions when installed. Supporting tubular framework shall be internal to the chamber. Shielding Required ? 100 dB at 100 MHz reducing linearly to 60 dB at 18 GHz. The chamber is intended for outdoor use and as such this requirement is to be imposed on the chamber upon delivery. The manufacturer should make reasonable effort to minimize the potential for future corrosion of the chamber during construction. Chamber will be equipped with two mechanical tuners. Tuners shall be driven by supplied stepper motors and controller. Stepper motor controller shall be software compatible with Compumotor 4000 series motion control system. IEC-61000-4-21 should be used as a guide for constructing the chamber and tuners. Chambe r performance shall be evaluated using the methods outlined in IEC 610 00-4-21 Annex B starting at 100 MHz and the data supplied with the chamber documentation. Due to the size of the chamber it will not be required to meet the tolerance limit of IEC 61000-4-21 below 400 MHz. The chamber shall be equipped with one 12?x12? instrumentation access panel on each chamber wall. Access panels shall be located as close to the center of each chamber wall as possible at a center height of 48?. The chamber shall be equipped with 24?x24? air vents on each wall. The vents shall be located as close to the chamber top as possible and should be located as close to the center of each chamber wall as possible. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR 13 as a Firm Fixed Price purchase order. Therefore, the quote must include all applicable shipping charges. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY REQUEST FOR QUOTATION, AS ALL ITEMS ARE SPECIFIED UNDER THIS NOTICE AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED.
