Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport intends to award on a sole source basis a Cost Plus Fixed Fee term type contract to Ultra Electronics Ltd to provide support for the installation, testing and training of personnel for the Recoverable Tethered Optical Fibre (RTOF) submarine communication system. Under a Project Agreement (DOD-MOD-N-04-0019) between the US Navy and the Royal Navy, the US Navy is responsible for the installation and testing of the (RTOF). The Ministry of Defense awarded a competitive contract to Ultra Electronics to design, develop and construct the RTOF hardware. As the designer and builder of this hardware, Ultra is the only company capable of providing the technical support necessary to conduct all the efforts related to the installation and testing of the RTOF system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating of DO-C9 applies.
