Description

Request for interested sources and commercial industry information regarding local drayage services of household furniture and domestic appliances. Current drayage contracts deliver household furnishings to US Army Garrisons (USAGs) in Wiesbaden, Gi essen, Hanau, Baumholder, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Garmisch, Grafenwoehr, Hohenfels, Ansbach, Bamberg, and Schweinfurt in Germany; Vicenza and Livorno in Italy; Schinnen in the Netherlands, and Chievres, Belgium. Furnishings include Government owned desks, wardrobes, tables, chairs, end tables, 3-drawer bachelor chests, sofas, easy chairs, beds, mattresses, coffee tables, china cabinets, bookcases, kitchen cabinets, washers, dryers, electric ranges, refrigerator-freezers, and microwaves. These furnishings are delivered from Government warehouses to Army Family Housing and Government sponsored rental properties. Due to the U.S. Army in Europe transformation, the Army is interested in consolidation of the current drayage contracts. There are seven project ed regions once the transformation is complete. The government is considering establishing contracts in the following in regions: Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Kaiserslautern/Mannheim, Grafenwoehr, and Ansbach in Germany; Vicenza and Livorno in Italy; Benelux in Belgium, and the Netherlands requirements. Current contracts are priced by cubic meter from point of origin to housing locations in a radius of 25 Km to 151 Km with an additional requirement beyond 151 Km for a very small portion of transportation. Re gional contracts will increase this radius significantly.
