Description
1. Tug(s) Required: Request U.S. or foreign flag tug(s). In accordance with the Cargo Preference Act of 1904 and Section IIIA.3 of the Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA) (see 69 FEDERAL REGISTER 25166-25168, May 5, 2004, or most current reference), preference will be given to U.S. flag vessels and VISA participants. 2. Description of Tow: Barge #1: YWN156 (WATER BARG) 120 feet long, 33 feet wide, 14 feet (TOTAL) = 6 feet from the waterline to the main deck + 8 more feet to the top of the highest point. Tonnage: 175. Barge #2: WE01055 (SWOB) 106 feet long, 26 feet wide, 15 feet (TOTAL) = 7 feet from the waterline to the main deck + 8 more feet to the top of the highest point. Tonnage: 394. Barge #3: YC1595 (Flat) 110 feet long, 32 feet wide, 7 feet from the waterline to the deck/highest point. Tonnage: 680. Barge #4 YC1668 (Banana)120 feet long, 34 feet wide, 7 feet from the waterline to the center deck, 10 feet from the waterline to the highest point of the deck on the far ends due to the banana shape of the barge. Tonnage: 680. The Government intends on making a single award for the towage of all four barges. 3. Port(s)/Place(s) of Departure: La Maddalena, Sardinia. 4. Laytime: 6 days total, SSHINC. See Box 6: Laydays, below. 5. Port(s)/Place(s) of Destination: Gaeta, Italy (Barges #1-3) & Rota, Spain (Barge #4) 6. Laydays: To be proposed by the offerors such that the last barge departs La Maddalena NLT 15 January 2008, and such that no port work days occur 24, 25, 26, 31 December or 01 January.
