- Description
- THE GOVERNMENT IS CURRENTLY CONTEMPLATING A 100% SET ASIDE FOR A SERVICE DISABLE VETERAN OWNED COMPANY. ALSO, THE QUALIFICATION OF CMMI LEVEL 3 IS REQUIRED. The eEquipment Application is a custom mobile inventory tracking and assignment application designed to work in conjunction with the Asset Inventory Management (AIM) component of AFEMS. AIM is used to manage Information Technology (IT) and Personal Wireless Communication System (PWCS) assets at retail and wholesale levels throughout the USAF to meet peacetime and wartime mission requirements. Initial fielding of eEquipment included support for a range of scanners from numerous vendors. During Fiscal Year (FY) 2007 the PMO provided guidance to the AIM user community that a standard scanning hardware configuration to host the eEquipment application for use with the AIM system will be adopted through identifying and supporting an AIT designated "Best of Breed" hardware solution. The current "Best of Breed" HW solution is defined as the INTERMEC 751G and it is considered the standard handheld to host the eEquipment application for use with the AIM system. The future of the eEquipment Application will be affected by an effort underway to modernize the Air Force supply management process using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. It is planned that the eEquipment Application may no longer be required after implementation of ERP. This contract covers all tasks necessary to provide security, sustainment, maintenance, and Level II Help Desk support of the eEquipment Application. Support will be for the Hand Held Terminal (HHT) that the AF determines to be the best of breed, which is currently determined to be the INERMEC 751G, starting as of 1 October 2008. After that date any hardware upgrades to the 751G that impacts eEquipment shall be supported. The contractor shall continue to provide Level II support for the user community for fielded eEquipment applications running on other HW while they leave the inventory through attrition, however, no new functionality or code fixes will be provided for these versions. Through this continual refinement of the eEquipment Application, it is expected that customer acceptance will increase as well as the efficiency of Major Command (MAJCOM) Equipment Control Officers (MECOs), Equipment Control Officers (ECOs) and Equipment Custodians (ECs), the target audience for this application. The measures of success for this effort are described in the initiative objectives below.
