- Description
- (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items/services is prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only sol icitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is W911QX-08-T-0041. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negoti ate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all pro posals received before the closing date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is a sole source to the Fraunhofer Institute, Dresden, Germany in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 . (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-23. (iv) The associated NAICS code is 541712 (v)(vi) The following is a list of contract line ite m number(s) and items, quantities and units of measure, CLIN 0001 Plane-ground tiles - Plane-ground tiles of transparent Mg-Al spinel, 85-89 m square, with 0.6 um grain size and 14.2-15 GPa hardness (Quantity 20 each); CLIN 0002 Plane-ground tiles - Pl ane-ground tiles of transparent Mg-Al spinel, 85-89 m square, with 1.5-2um grain size and 13.5-14 GPa hardness (Quantity 20 each); CLIN 0003 Polished-ground tiles - Polished-ground tiles of transparent Mg-Al spinel, 85-89 m square, with 0.6 um grain size and 14.2-15 GPa hardness (Quantity 2 each); CLIN 0004 Polished ground tiles - Polished ground tiles of transparent Mg-Al spinel, 85-89 m square, with 1.5-2um grain size and 13.5-14 GPa hardness (Quantity 2 each). (vii) Delivery shall be FOB Desti nation and delivery is required by nine months after date of contract award. Delivery shall be made to US Army Research Laboratory, ARL Receiving Section, Bldg 434, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. Acceptance shall be performed at US Army Research Labora tory, APG, MD 21005. (vii) The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The following addenda have been attached to this provision: None (viii) Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items, and DFARS 252.212-7000, Offeror Representations and Certifications -Commercial Items, with its offer. The successful offeror will be required to register with the On line Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). (ix) The clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
