Description
The Seattle District Corps of Engineers has a requirement for final excavation and tunneling of the Fish Passage at Howard Hanson Dam (HHD). The Dam is located on the Green River in western Washington and is a 230-foot-high rock fill dam. The exist ing outlet tunnel is 900 ft long, with a 19 ft semi-horseshoe shaped cross section, which is concrete lined. A Fish Passage Facility is being constructed adjacent to the existing outlet tower and outlet tunnel. To date, the excavation has progressed from elevation 1150 to 1074 feet and the front section of the Fish Passage Facility has been constructed and is being used as cofferdam to keep the excavation separated from the reservoir. This work includes but is not limited to excavation to final facility design depth and excavating and constructing an attraction water conduit and a personnel access tunnel. All work to connect the attraction water conduit to the 19-foot flood control tunnel must be completed during the maintenance outage window from July 1 to October 15, 2007 weather permitting, and must be prepared to install downstream portal protection measures should the work not be completed within one outage window. This procurement is unrestricted. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 237990 and the small business size standard is $31.0-million.
