Description

The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) is planning to write a follow-on type contract for the modification of a previously developed tool kit to add new functionality for detecting potential cracks in the improved Stryker vehicle spindle design (front & rear). This upgrade will involve the development of a new algorithm to detect spindle cracks in both front and rear wheel assemblies. The contractor will also be required to validate the new algorithm during Stryker reset activitie s, and upgrade the 21 existing tool kits with validated algorithm. This contracting action will be awarded on a sole-source basis to Purdue University of West Lafayette, IN. A period of performance of two years is contemplated. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation, although a formal written solicitation will not be issued as this contracting action is planned as other than full and open competition, per 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or s ervices will satisfy agency requirements.
