Description
The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Drydock and Repair of a 41 Foot Utility Boat (Station Grand Isle) Hull Number: 41426. The acquisition will be solicited Total Small Business Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about January 25, 2008. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail Wendy.J.Culbreth@uscg.mil. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The homeport of the vessel is End of LA Highway 1, Grand Isle, LA 70358. All work will be performed at the contractor facility. The vessel is geographical restricted to 272 nautical miles of Station Grand Isle, LA. The performance period is thirty-five (35) calendar days with a start date on or about 15 April 2008. The scope of the acquisition is for (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) Shot Inspection, (3) Air Test Skeg, (4) Clean & Inspect Fuel Tanks (Includes Disposal), (5) Remove, Inspect & Reinstall Both Propeller Shafts, (6) Renew Port and Starboard Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings, (7) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Port and Starboard Propellers, (8) Clean and Inspect Port and Starboard Engine Exhaust Piping Systems, (9) Renew Sea Valves, (10) Remove Coating from Topside Surfaces (EC No. 41UTB-(C)-103, (11) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudders, (12) Preserve Underwater Body, (13) Routine Drydocking, and (14) Provide Temporary Logistics. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The USCG 41426 is a 41 Foot Utility Boat homeported in Grand Isle LA 70358. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
