Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy electronic Commerce online (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract to Vision Technology Halter Marine, Inc. (VT Halter Marine), 900 Bayou Casotte Parkway, Pascagoula, MS 39581, for the detail design and construction requirements for the T-AGS Oceanographic Survey Ship, which has been designated as the T-AGS 66. The contract with VT Halter Marine provides for the procurement of a modified repeat T-AGS Oceanographic Survey Class Ship. The delivery date for the T-AGS 66 is expected to be November 20 11. It is planned that the requirements for the detail design and construction will be awarded no later than the fourth quarter of FY 2008. The requirements of T-AGS 66 will require detailed knowledge and familiarity with critical technical details, design, configuration, and performance characteristics of the T-AGS 65 and the T-AGS 60 series. As the sole designer and shipbuilder for these ship types, only VT Halter Marine possesses the requisite knowledge and experience to satisfactorily perform the requirements. Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact VT Halter Marine as follows: Rob Mullins at 228-696-6820 or r.mullins@vthm.com. See Numbered Note 22.
