- Description
- BACKGROUND: The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking vendors capable of providing a software product that would permit testing applications in the IBM WebSphere Versions 5.1 and 6.1 environment simulating different date scenarios using both a past and future system date. Many programs have functions that are activated only under certain date conditions. Such programs cannot be fully tested without executing them during a current date condition that will trigger this logic. SSA needs a simple mechanism to manipulate the date being used as the system date for chosen WebSphere applications being tested without impacting other applications. This software product would allow application developers to test ?date-affected? applications-functionality using an initial date and then alter the perceived date to further test functionality. MANDATORY EVALUATION REQUIREMENTS: The product must: 1) run with IBM WebSphere Versions 5.1 and 6.1 in both Sun Solaris v8 or v10 and IBM z/OS v1.8 or z/OS v1.9 environments; 2) be capable of processing in an environment that could include Customer Information Control System (CICS), Database 2 (DB2), and Tivoli ITCAMS software; and, 3) provide telephone hotline support during normal business hours. Responses must be specific as to the product proposed. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. The Government will not award a contract based on responses received; however, SSA will use this information to assess capable sources. Detailed responses to each of the above requirements (with substantiating documentation) are required. SSA will not consider simple marketing information or incomplete responses, nor will SSA consider reference to vendor web sites as a valid response. Respondents should indicate whether their software is available on GSA Federal Supply Schedules or any other Government-wide Agency Contract (GWAC). NOTE: Vendors must provide verifiable proof of Section 508 Compliancy in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to meet the Agency?s requirement, see URL site http://www.section508.gov/. Vendors that are confident of offering a technically complaint product, which meets the above listed criteria, must submit information concerning their product?s capabilities. Electronic responses must be received by 3:00 p.m. EST on February 13, 2008. SSA will not accept faxed information. The size limitation for email attachments is 10 megabytes. MS Word is the Agency?s standard word processing software. SSA will not provide acknowledgement of response received. Respondents should refer to SSA-SSS-DateSimulation-CS.
