PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Description: Evaluation and Preservation Treatment of Historic Chimneys, Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site, Cornish, New Hampshire. The work to be executed under this contract consists of evaluating existing conditions, and recommending and executing preservation repairs to four brick masonry chimneys on the Aspet (1795). Preservation treatments may include, but are not necessarily limited to, masonry repointing, resetting and rebedding of loose units, furnishing appropriate replacement units where originals are missing or deteriorated beyond use, and selective rebuilding. Preservation repairs may also include patching or replacement of renderings on chimney stems exposed within attics or above respective rooflines. In addition, preservation repairs may also include augmentation or selective replacement of flashings, caps, and sealants. The National Park Service anticipates entering into a firm fixed-price construction contract as a result of this solicitation. This acquisition is subject to P.L.100-656, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, and as such is open to all concerns regardless of size. The NAICS code for this project is 238140, Masonry Contractors, with a small business size standard of $12 million. The contract performance period is 250 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. In accordance with FAR Section 36.204, the estimated price range for this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Contractors are urged to make a site visit to ascertain existing work conditions. A pre-proposal conference will be held Monday, February 25, 2008 at 10:00 am (snow date: Friday, February 29 at 10 am) at Saint Gaudens National Historic Site, 139 Saint Gaudens Road, Cornish, NH. All interested offerors are encouraged to attend.
