- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repairs to the USCGC ALBACORE (WPB-87309). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The acquisition will be solicited Total Hubzone Set-Aside. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ) on or about February 21, 2008. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all request via e-mail to Arlene.V.Woodley@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option automatic notification service. The standard industrial classification code is 3731 and the NAICS code us 336611. The homeport of the vessel is USNAB Little Creek, Norfolk, VA. All work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 42 calendar days with a start date on or about June 2, 2008. The scope of the acquisition is for 1)Welding Repairs; 2) Renew Hull Plating; 3) Inspect Pilothouse Deck; 4) Clean and Inspect Fuel and Waste Oil Tanks; 5) Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks; 6) Renew Door; 7) Clean Sewage and Grey Water Piping Systems; 8) Realign Main Engine/Reduction Gear; 9) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts; 10) Repair Shaft; 11) Straighten Shaft; 12) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings; 13) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers; 14) Perform Minor Repair and Recondition of Propeller; 15) Renew Transducers and Preserve Transducer Hull Rings; 16) Overhaul and Renew Valves; 17) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies; 18) Preserve RHIB Wet Notch Deck and Stern Door Interior Surfaces; 19) Preserve Underwater Body; 20) Overcoat Freeboard Surfaces ? In Drydock; 21) Renew Cathodic Protection System; 22) Renew Capastic Fairing; 23) Inspect Transducer Fairing; 24) Routine Drydocking; 25) Provide Temporary Logistics; 26) Renew Mast Cable Standoffs; 27)Clean and Inspect Simplex Sea Strainers. . Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTION is 540 nautical miles to and from the USCGC ALBACORE homeport, Little Creek, VA.
