Description
Gyro Rate and Demodulator, NSN: 1005-01-112-8557, PN: 1229197. The Government intends to issue a 3-Yr Long-Term IDIQ solicitation restricted under FAR 6.302-1 to Atlantic Inertial Systems, Inc, 250 Knotter Dr, Cheshire, CT 06410-1137, Cage Code: 633 95. The Government intends to issue this solicitation immediately to Atlantic Inertial Systems, Inc. This item is a source controlled item and Atlantic Inertial Systems Inc. is the only qualified source. This effort is being synopsized in FedBizOpps to al ert interested contractors and subcontractors for work possibilities. We are not soliciting offerors to submit a response however any responsible source that submits a proposal will be reviewed. Any company interested in this procurement would first have to become a fully qualified source; which would require producing an initial test sample at your own costs, fully passing a FAT and Operational test on a Bradley Vehicle and meeting the required delivery dates for this procurement. The Government does not intend to deviate or allow any extensions from the required delivery schedule. The FOB point is Destination. Item is for use on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle System (BFVS). Estimated issue date is 19 February 2008. The gyro is a device which is used to obt ain inertial rate information from the vehicle when in motion. There are three or four gyros used per turret drive system depending on system configuration to obtain rate information about the pitch, (yaw), traverse, and elevation axes. The demodulator c onverts the alternating current (ac) gyro rate signal to a direct current (dc) voltage and sends the signal to the electronics as a feedback control signal. This solicitation will be restricted under FAR 6.302-1 and is issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502, 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided.
